CAS Vintage Card | Video

Hello everyone! This is Deepti here and today I have two cards to share with you all. I love making cute and fun stuff. So here I am today with a cute CAS Vintage card and a sweet Mermaid card. According to me Vintage means adding a lot of Brown. Say for example, if you colored an image in pink and added brown to the edges and highlights of that image then that becomes Vintage. That's what I did today, I added a lot of brown to the images. :)

CARD #1 DETAILS

I started by ink blending the background with Vintage Photo Distress ink then stamped the Pixels stamp set randomly on the ink blended card stock with the same Vintage Photo distress ink. To create some interest to the background I added splatters of water and picked up the excess with a tissue paper.

I stamped the doggy from Furry Friend and the envelope from Mail Delight stamp sets in Versafine Sepia Ink and colored them with Vintage Photo and Festive Berries distress Inks respectively. To add more depth I added more brown (vintage photo) to the images! I fussy cut the images, made a tiny slit in dog's mouth with scissors and adhered the envelope with the glue. This looks like as if the dog was catching the envelope!

I stamped the sentiments with the same Versafine Sepia ink and adhered the images with foam tape. Finally wrapped a regular white twine at the bottom to complete the card!

I have made a video for you, I hope you'll like it :)

CARD #2 DETAILS

This card was pretty simple to make. I ink blended the background with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and added splatters of water just to mimic an ocean. Next stamped the sentiment from Mermaid stamp set with CP Midnight Ink.

I stamped the Mermaids in black ink and water colored them with Faber-Castell Water Color Pencils. I didn't want my water coloring to be perfect since they were floating in water I just wanted that imperfect look!

Fussy cut the images, foam mounted on top of the card panel and added silver dots with Silver Gel Pen to highlight the overall design!

I hope you liked my cards and got inspired. Also don't forget to play along with our current challenge where the theme is Chalkboard Technique. I already shared my inspiration pics for this challenge. In case you missed any of those here it is again for you! :)

Make the most of your alphabet stamps

Hello friends
Parul here from Parul Gupta Designs. Are you playing Mudra's ongoing challenge # 9 - Chalkboard Technique? If not then you must try. Not only you have a chance to win a beatiful stamp set but also you get to play with this really cool technique. If you want to get inspired before giving it a try there are plenty of inspirations by all DTs.  So what are you waiting for? Come on and play along!

In today's post I will share with you three ways you can use Mudra's latest alphabet stamp set " Painted Alphas".  Although I can never have enough of alphabet sets but this big, bold painted alpha is going to be my all time favourite. I think I can make infinite number of projects just with this stamp set and so can you :)
So here we go
Project 1 : Highlight a word in random alphabets
As all words are made with letters you can always make a quick card with stamping lot of alphabets and highlighting the letters of that sentiment word just like I did in my card :)

I stamped all alphabets in light blue colour and highlighted the word "Hi" by stamping it in a navy blue colour. Luckily the word Hi has consecutive alphabets but you can also try Hello, ILU, Love etc  as well.

Project 2: Repeat stamping of a word and then highlighting one of them.
Second way of using your alphabet stamps can be stamping a word repeatedly and then highlight one of them as I did in my following card

You can use your stamp positioning tool to stamp the letters in a straight line. :) This combination of grey and red is just wow! It infuses romance instantly to the card. I also made a dashed line with white gel pen to break the monotonous background :)

Project 3 : Doodling on alphas
Since this is a big and bold alphabet stamp it also gives you opportunity to doodle on them. Lets have a look at the card
I randomly doodled on upper half of the letters. Don't they look so pretty?  And to make it look like a frame I used the smallest layered flower from the set "Botanical Blooms". The word "Birthday" is result of masking and stamping from the "Floral Fantasy" set from Mudra.
I hope you like the projects and get inspired. Please let me know in comments I would love to read them all.

Here is my card which I made using the Hip hip hippo stamp set. I have masked images while stamping them so I can create a birthday celebration scene. Colored the images using zig clean brush watercolor pens. To pop up the cake more I have glossy accents on the hearts and yellow icing.

I used Doodled elements stamp set. I am in so much in love with this butterfly. I stamped it with Versafine black ink and colored the butterflies with zig clean real brush watercolor markers and splattered some black color. The sentiment is from the Hip Hip Hippo stamp set. Have white embossed the sentiment on black cardstock.

Hello Everyone!!

Manu here and I hope you are loving all the DT inspirations for the current challenge which is all about Chalkboard!!! Read about the challenge here!

I have a few projects today, lets start with the ones which comply with the challenge!

Project 1.

Here are the instructions to make the card
1. Take a A2 size card panel and heat emboss the blooms with the white ranger embossing powder.
2. Take the sentiment from the love stamp set and heat set with the white embossing powder.
3. I colored the blooms with Acrylic colors, since none of the inks were making a visible good color impression.
4. Add the sequins from Mudra (I love them) and finish off the card by mounting it on an A2 size card panel.

Project 2:

To make this card.
1. Take an A2 size panel and stamp the ninja stamp from the Ninja stamp set and heat set!
2. Stamp the quote and heat set it.
3. Make a few add-on with a white gel pen to make the card a little realistic !
4. Mount the panel to an A2 size card !

Project 3.

I totally loved the Ninja stamp set!! Why not some colourful Ninja's !!

Here are the instructions to make the card
1. Take a cardstock panel and make a ninja outline by masking! I stamped them up multiple times by masking and then to make them stand out, made the boundary of the Ninja's. Fussy cut the outline and mount it onto a cardstock with the Quote stamped.
2. Make the shaker panel frame and insert the OHP sheet in the middle, don't forget to add the sequins!!
3. Mount the card to an A2 size card!

Here are a few more closeup's!

Project 4:

I love making baby albums and an integral part is documenting the pregnancy journey!! Here's how I incorporated the pregnancy stamp set in one of my albums!

Project 5:

My most loved alpha set !!! Totally loved making the background in this card!! This stamp set is very very versatile! It will make for super nice background for the cards as well as work as the eye catching alpha on the card!

Here are the instructions to make the card

1. Take an A2 size panel and stamp and take the L O V E alpha's from the alphabet set. Stamp them onto the cardstock to make a background!

Cards With Stamping and Dry Embossing Techniques!!

Hello friends!! This is Kanan, hope you are having a great week. I am here with few cards with some simple techniques and tips to create interesting backgrounds to give your projects a unique look.

Let's get started.

First Card -

  • Chose the beautiful butterfly image from the "Geometric Nature" set and colored it using Crayola fine line markers and used the water brush to give it a watercolor look.
  • Embossed the front panel using the "Mandala" stencil.
  • Added some splatters using gold acrylic paint and some Wink of Stella on butterfly.
  • Added the butterfly on that and matching glitter strip
  • The sentiment is from the same set. Hope you will like this simple dry embossing technique which gives so much texture and adds interest to your focal image.

Second Card -

  • For this card I chose "Decorative Pennants", got idea for this card from Pinterest.
  • Stamped the triangles in shades of yellow, pink and orange shades.
  • Added the craft thread. The sentiment is from "Sentiment - In Circle"
  • Lastly added the whole panel on the card base.
  • Kept it simple as I don't wanted to overshadow the bright colors with any embellishments.
  • I love how only stamping using bright colors can add so much interest to a clean and simple card.

Third Card -

  • Used "Build A Ribbon" set to create the background.
  • Used various shades of Distress inks and sprints some water and stamped it directly to achieve watercolor look.
  • Created sentiment using the " Painted Alpha" set. Fussy cut it and added some foam tape for dimension.
  • Lastly, added some Wink of Stella glitter pen on sentiment and Mudra's Radium Green, Yellow, Harvest Mix, Sugar Plum Mix sequins.
  • Those pop of alphas look lovely on that rainbow background.

Fourth Card -

  • This card is a birthday card created with this months "Chalkboard Technique" theme.
  • White embossed the balloons from the "Balloons" set
  • Added some details with colored pencils and white gel pen and also added some white chalk ink for more real look.
  • Lastly, added some patterned paper and stickers to embellish the card.
  • Love this technique and goes so well with any theme project.
